At last, no more school. I moved from Doonside in Natal up to Johannesburg
in the Transvaal.
It's amazing how life can change hey, now I was a highly paid (R21 p.w.) apprentice
electrician,
so out with the Yamaha 125 and in with the Triumph Tiger. This was the best
thing I ever did.
On the 70s Rock Music front, Jethro Tull was one of my favorite groups, Benefit
was a great LP.
Atom Heart Mother
from Pink Floyd was a stimulating musical experience. Pam who worked at
Rube's Motorcycle Spares introduced me to Mountain (amongst other things). Climbing
is such
a brilliant L.P. The battle was on between Deep Purple (In
Rock) and Uriah Heep (Very
'eavy,
Very 'umble), both great bands, but I think I prefered Uriah Heep.
And also Traffic,
Led Zeppelin,
East Of
Eden, David
Bowie, Hawkwind,
Audience,
King Crimson,
Soft Machine,
Frank Zappa,
on and on the list of Groups and Musicians goes. The 70's had arrived, and Rock
Music was in full
swing, with something for everyones tastes. This was a great year for me, in
more ways than one.
